Two full days in New Orleans.
Day 1: Beignets, National WWII Museum, INCREDIBLE, MUST SEE, divided into the Pacific and European Theaters, organized chronologically by battle. After visiting all of the exhibits We were struck by these nagging thoughts…
- How can two little countries like Germany & Japan wreak such havoc on the entire world?
- The Allies came close to losing the war on several occasions.
- The number of people who died is staggering: 15,000,000 Battle Deaths, 25,000,000 Battle Wounded, 45,000,000 Civilian Deaths (https://www.nationalww2museum.org/students-teachers/student-resources/research-starters/research-starters-worldwide-deaths-world-war)
Day 2:
Cafe Beignet for brunch, walking around the French Quarter, music, many closed shops and restaurants & no crowds (COVID & January), Bourbon Street.
Wow! Neat about the WW 2 museum. Most have been fascinating (but sad it happened) Awesome with French Quarter too! 🙂 Arizona here you folks come! Time to Partay! 🙂
Sounds like two great days! Hope to visit that museum one day!
We love NOLA! We’ve been there already twice! And we also checked out the WWII museum! It was fascinating! As a kid I don’t pay attention too much to history, now I’m fascinated by it!
And of course the beignets! Glad you guys had a great time!
