She & Me – On Our Own

The tether to family has been disconnected as we left the safety net of Ft Myers/ Estero and moved from Koreshan State Park to Lake Manatee State Park in Bradenton. Another beautiful Florida park with Spanish-Moss-draped stately oaks, palms, and a large, man-made, 12′ deep lake. The campsites are roomy and comfortable. Our departure from Koreshan went well including every RVers’ favorite task, emptying the gray & black tanks.

She continues to be an incredible asset to the She & Me team by learning all of the inside & outside equipment, adeptly guiding Me backing into campsites, working through arrival & departure checklists, and sharing in exploring Florida destinations.

We are realizing how much we have depended on Internet & Wi-Fi access. SheMeRV.com posts are less often as Florida state parks do not offer Wi-Fi. We have had to add GB’s of data to our cell phone plan in order to make use of the hotspot feature.

Because of the dam at one end of the lake, there are no manatees in Lake Manatee 🙂 Local fauna has been limited to the ubiquitous gray squirrels, an armadillo, and a male cardinal that attacked his reflection in our rear picture window for about 30 minutes thinking he was driving away a rival male.

Plans are to visit granddaughter, Lanie, in St. Pete and Kent’s cousins Matt & Trina in Tampa before leaving for Suwannee River State Park in Live Oak on Saturday.

It is going to be great following you guys around the country and living vicariously through your adventures. And Kent, You might think of adding overalls and/or coveralls to your wardrobe – just saying. Looking forward to seeing you on the road for a visit.

Won’t be long before Jenny will be behind the wheel! What an adventure. Many people talk and dream about doing this. You both should feel so fulfilled. You ARE doing it! Safe travels!

We miss you guys!!! Hope you’re enjoying some alone time in a much less stressful environment than packing up in Fort Laud right before Christmas was. Each new stop, park, load, unload brings you closer to being complete pros on the road. Love you much!!
