RV “Disney”

We had a wonderful first trip away after retirement. Visiting with daughters & grandkids in Ft. Myers. Fall Festival at Southern Fresh Farms (http://southernfresh.farm/). Church at First Christian Church Ft. Myers (https://fccfm.org/). Lunch at Pinchers (https://www.pinchersusa.com/).

Lunch at Pinchers

Followed by a visit with friends and brand new Florida residents Rich & Nancy Miles at Sarasota National (https://www.lennarswfl.com/lp/sarasota-national/) in beautiful Venice, Florida.

Included in the getaway was a day trip to Lazy Days RV in Tampa, Florida. It is affectionately known in RV circles as “RV Disney” and every RVer makes a pilgrimage to the confluence of I-75 and I-4 to see it.

They claim to have 1,500 RVs onsite and I believe it. They also have a huge RV parts and accessories store, an RV campground, acres of RV repair bays, a cafeteria, and dozens of RV’s plugged in and waiting for their owners to come and receive instructions on how to operate their new rolling residence. Of the 85 salespersons we were assigned to Christian who has been with the company for 16 years and drove us by golf cart to where we could look over the dozen or so 5th wheel trailers that met our criteria (2-3 years old, 30-33 feet, 10,000 lbs. empty).

Though we saw several that met our criteria, we are still struck by and stuck on the Grand Design 303RLS and will likely hold out for that model.

The finale for our inaugural (non-RV) trip was watching grandson Easton (7) and coach/dad (Tyler) win their baseball game. Easton got on base four times and made several plays at 1st base 🙂 So much fun!
